About Us

Welcome to Skeldale House, known to many as the veterinary surgery from the original 'All Creatures Great and Small' series.
Today, it stands as a unique destination for visitors to the Yorkshire Dales.
Our accommodation includes six luxuriously appointed studio suites and a spacious apartment. A distinctive feature is 'The Surgery', where guests can explore the memorabilia from the show.
The interior design thoughtfully merges 1950s-era elegance with contemporary sophistication. Modern amenities, including fully-equipped kitchens, 58” 4K Ultra HD TVs, and bathrooms with elegant roll-top baths, provide the ultimate in comfort and create the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. So you'll be able to kick off your hiking boots and wallow in the luxury of it all!
ASKRIGG
Nestled in the heart of Wensleydale, Askrigg is the perfect base for all your outdoor adventures. Step out of your door onto a network of footpaths and bridleways which lead you through the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside. From gentle riverside strolls to dramatic waterfall trails.
Challenging mountain biking and road cycling routes are available directly from the house.
Lace up or clip in and explore the beauty of the Dales, right from the centre of the village.
Askrigg is a charming, picture-perfect Dales village, also known as the fictional setting ‘Darrowby' in the original 'All Creatures Great and Small' series.
You may find much of it very familiar!
One of the three pubs in the village, The Kings Arms, sits opposite Skeldale House on Main Street and featured as 'The Drovers Arms' in the series.
This was where James, Tristan and Siegfried finished many a busy shift with a stiff drink!
Check out our full property bookings page where you can reserve Skeldale House for events from Birthday Celebrations to Anniversaries!

In a perfect location in the centre of a picturesque village . With three very good dog friendly pubs and a fantastic bakery all in a very short walk.
